how do I get the smell out of leather sandals?

We have several pairs of leather sandals that got wet or damp and now smell. We are wondering if there is a way to get rid of the smell? Is there a powder that can be used or something else?

    Baking soda is the best powder to absorb odor. But depending on the leather it could stain the color. Try a good shoe repair shop. Be forewarned though, may comeback smelling better but after two or three wears the smell often comes back. Good Luck!

    I soak mine for a few minutes in a mixture of pinesol and water, dry and coat lightly with mineral oil. It works really well.

    i dont know what you can do now, but whenever you get leather things, coat them with that leather stuff. you can pretty much get it anywhere (walmart, target, shoes stores)

    I wash mine in the washing machine . have had the same pair for years
