How can you wear sandals in the desert when the sand is that hot?

I read that people wear sandals in the desert because it keeps your feet cool. But I read that the sand in deserts is more than 150 degrees. If that’s the case, how can you wear sandals when the sand is that hot? Your feet would fry.

    The sandals protect the lower part of your feet from the heat of the sand. This is the area where there is direct contact and it surely needs a barrier for protection. The uper parts of the feet are indeed exposed to heat not as much as the face, hands etc but if you wear regular choose, your feet are gonna be too sweaty to walk.

    You still feel the heat, but it is the best alternative.

    You walk over the sand not in it.
    Sandals are excellent for air circulation
